I'M HERE FOR THE DRAMA

ABOUT ME

I'm going to keep this vague and remain anonymous because I want my posts to be completely honest. When you read it, you might notice I've avoided any specific language the school uses and I haven't used any names.

School

When I first started this blog I was a Drama teacher in my late twenties, wondering if becoming a teacher was really the right decision for me.

I worked at a public school in a privileged part of England.

Me

I'm not a 'throw the shawl over my shoulder and storm out when I don't get my own way' Ms Darbus type character. I have been reliably informed that I don't fit the Drama teacher stereotype. I'm actually pretty laid back, I don't like unnecessary fuss, and I don't sob at Christmas adverts.

I am writing this blog for myself, but also for other teachers who are struggling right now and need to know they're not alone. If you're not a teacher, congratulations! I hope I make you feel better about your own life choices...

WHAT'S THE VIBE?

Notebook

"Sometimes I love my job and I come home raving about how much fun I'm having and how great my life is. Sometimes I hate it and I'm online looking for new careers in my lunch break. There's rarely anywhere in between."

Me, April 2022

Also, I may have trained in teaching but I'm not a writer... so be kind!
